Testing was carried out at a site for a dwelling-house at Ballynacourty, Kilfinnane, Co. Limerick, due to its proximity to the site of a castle. An H-shaped trench was excavated on the footprint of the proposed house. The subsoil consisted of mid-yellow clay. A trench was excavated along the proposed driveway and percolation area. No archaeological stratigraphy or artefacts were recorded within the trenches.
