Monitoring of all ground disturbance was undertaken in advance of the construction of a stationery/coffee shop at the southern side of Church Street, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. The site is at the end of a terrace of two-storey dwellings and within the zone of archaeological potential for Askeaton. The rear of the proposed development is the boundary wall of St Mary’s parish church and graveyard, built around 1850. The remains of the medieval church are located at the eastern end of the modern structure. No archaeological features were observed during excavation of the foundations for the development.
