The proposed development, to consist of eight townhouses, parking, access and related services, is located on the west side of the R280 in Leitrim village, south of the bridge. The site is near earthworks on the shores of the River Shannon. Testing was carried out on 8 August 2003. Four trenches, 30m by 1m, were excavated to a depth of 0.8–0.9m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
