The site is located on low-lying level ground approximately 250m to the south and east of Fenagh village. It lies within the zones of archaeological potential for Fenagh Abbey, an Early Christian monastic enclosure and medieval churches. The proposed development is to consist of a single house and access. Three trenches were excavated by machine. One measured 20m long and the other two were 10m long. All three measured 1m wide and were excavated to a depth of between 0.4 and 0.5m. No archaeological materials or features were identified in any of the trenches.
