Monitoring for the Fenagh village sewerage scheme began in 2001 and continued intermittently throughout 2002 and 2003. Despite the significant amount of monuments in the vicinity, including Fenagh Abbey, no evidence of archaeological activity was revealed throughout the course of the excavation. The majority of the areas excavated were along the existing village streets and surrounding county roads, where primarily disturbed deposits were encountered. One section of the proposed scheme has yet to be completed.
