The site of the proposed development is located in the village of Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim, on the corner of Scardaun Road and Church Street. It is to consist of the refurbishment and extension of an existing building, in addition to the construction of a new building, site access, parking and related services. The site is near a church and graveyard. Testing was carried out on 24 of January 2003. Four trenches measuring 20m by 1m were excavated across the site. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered in any of the trenches.
