The site of the proposed development, within the zone of archaeological potential for the post-medieval town of Carrick-on-Shannon, is located to the rear of the Bush Hotel, Main Street, and has two main components. The first is a small extension to the hotel and the second is an extension to the carpark. Testing was carried out on 6 September 2003. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation
