Excavation took place prior to road construction on the M7 Heath–Mayfield Motorway Scheme. Located at Ballyshaneduff or The Derries townland, the site was initially identified during centre-line testing by Eoghan Moore (No. 1056, Excavations 2003, 03E0126). It comprised five concentrations of features. Excavations uncovered evidence of several hearths, together with post-hole activity and evidence of earlier field boundaries.
