Test-trenches were excavated at a proposed development at Coolrane, Anatrim, Co. Laois. Five trenches were excavated across the proposed site of the building. A similar soil profile was recorded across the trenches, comprised of the sod layer, a dark-brown silty clay layer and the natural subsoils. There were no traces of archaeological remains found within the trenches.
