The site for a roundabout at the end of the N9 link road associated with the N25 Waterford Bypass was tested by trenching in late April/early May 2003. The work was funded by the National Roads Authority and Waterford Corporation.
A number of infilled ditches appear to be associated with the present field pattern, in place at least since the mid-18th century and probably through much or all of the medieval period. Most were enclosure ditches beside an old road crossing the site.
