Trial-trenches were excavated on this site in December 2003 as part of an assessment of a proposed private dwelling. The proposed dwelling would be near the site of a castle, SMR 11:6. Clear undulations were identifiable as the castle remains, located directly to the south of the proposed development site. Four trenches were excavated. A series of modern field drains were identified within the trenches. No features of archaeological significance were uncovered during these works.
