Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was undertaken at a residential development site located at Nun’s Land, Mill Lane, Naas. The topsoil lay directly upon a natural gravelly subsoil and no features or artefacts of archaeological interest were uncovered. The subsoil was largely undisturbed, except for root disturbance. Some monitoring of foundation trench excavations indicated that the subsoil was in excess of 0.6m in depth.
