Testing took place at the site of Manor Mills, Maynooth, Co. Kildare. The site is the location of a proposed complex that will include a number of apartment blocks, an underground carpark and other associated buildings/services. It was included within the zone of archaeological potential for Maynooth. The 4.9-acre site lies on the south-western corner of the junction of Mill Street and Kilcock Road, on the edge of Maynooth village. Prior to testing, the excavation of engineering test-pits was conducted under archaeological supervision. No archaeological material was revealed by these works.

The main testing phase identified the north-eastern corner of the site as the area of highest archaeological potential. The remainder of the site appeared to be bereft of archaeological material. The majority of the site had seen a great deal of disturbance, with the original topsoil having been stripped away, across the site, prior to the covering of large parts of the site in rubble and clay. This activity would have had a detrimental effect on any archaeology existing on the site.

The monitored removal of the modern overburden generally did not reveal anything of archaeological interest. In the north-east corner of the site, the only feature of note was the badly truncated remains of a relatively modern boundary ditch running parallel with the eastern limit of the development area. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted.
