Testing was undertaken to the rear of McCormack’s Pharmacy, Main Street, in the eastern half of Maynooth. Although all the recorded monuments are located in the western half of the town, the extent of the medieval settlement is unknown.
Five trenches were excavated within the area of development. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
