Monitoring of topsoil removal for proposed development works at Knockanally Golf Club was required. Site clearance took place prior to notification of the archaeologist. An inspection of the site took place after the completion of clearance. The topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.2–0.4m, exposing the underlying compact clay subsoil in a manner which was conducive to the identification of features. Episodes of previous disturbance were identified in the west, where the remnants of concrete foundations and services were exposed. No artefacts or stratigraphy of an archaeological nature were identified during the course of this inspection.
