Testing was carried out at Site 47 on 18 August 2003 as part of the programme of testing for the N7 Naas Road Widening and Interchanges Scheme. Situated in the south of a field to the south of the existing dual carriageway, Site 47 was a group of possible earthworks identified during the walkover survey for the environmental impact assessment. They had no obvious pattern but were recorded as being uniform within an area measuring 30m in diameter. No other possible features were noted within this field. Three test-trenches were excavated to natural by machine. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded.
