Testing was undertaken on 1 and 2 October at Site 30 as part of Contract 1 of the N7 Naas Road Widening and Interchanges Scheme. A possible north-east/south-west-oriented negative feature approximately 40m in length was located in the west of Site 30 in the geophysical survey. This area however is outside the area of land-take and would not be impacted by the proposed development. It is suggested that this may be a continuation of a possible feature recorded in Site 29 (Excavations 2003, No. 910). No other features of potential archaeological significance were recorded in the geophysical survey and no evidence for a possible enclosure as noted in the EIS was uncovered.
Two test-trenches were excavated to natural by machine in the area of Site 30. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded.
