Monitoring was undertaken for groundworks associated with a development at 77–79 Upper Rock Street, Tralee, Co. Kerry. The development is located in the vicinity of the zone of potential for the historic town of Tralee, SMR 29:119. The garden to the rear of the property was heavily overgrown, with vegetation up to 2m high. A large amount of rubbish (plastic, glass, etc.) was cleared for 30m to the rear of the properties. A 0.5m depth of dark blackish-brown silty topsoil was cleared to a mid-reddish-brown silty subsoil. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the monitoring.
