Testing was undertaken at a proposed residential development site located in the townland of Killowen, Kenmare, Co. Kerry.
There is a standing stone (SMR 93:19) located c. 150m to the west-north-west and a standing stone site (SMR 63:20) c. 50m to the north of the development area. A ruined church is located in a graveyard c. 150m west of the development area.
Eight trenches were excavated by both machine and hand. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
