Monitoring of topsoil removal was undertaken before the development of two houses in Killeen, Tralee. The site is on the north-western suburbs of Tralee town, just south-west of Forge Cross. Part of the development site falls within the zone of archaeological potential for an enclosure, SMR 20:93, in the townland of Muing West. However, no evidence of the enclosure has been found to date.

A modern two-storey dwelling was demolished prior to topsoil removal. All topsoil in the area of the proposed house platforms was removed by machine; no archaeological features were observed.
