Planning permission was granted for the construction of 74 houses on a site at Loreto Road, Killarney, Co. Kerry, with a condition which required monitoring. This took place in June 2001 and September 2002 during Phase 1 and Phase 2. Monitoring of Phase 3 of the development took place in June 2003. Topsoil was removed by machine to a depth of 0.25–0.5m to reveal a subsoil of glacial gravel with orange sandy soil and stones. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted.
