Monitoring of topsoil removal was undertaken in advance of the construction of a single-house development in Cloghane, Ballyduff. The southern boundary of the development area is formed by the arc of an enclosure, SMR 9:10, and comprises an overgrown earth and stone bank c. 2m high. This monument is 36.5m south of the rear wall of the proposed dwelling and no building works are scheduled for construction between the main dwelling and the enclosure. All topsoil associated with the dwelling, the driveway and the percolation area was removed and no archaeological features or artefacts were observed.
