Monitoring was undertaken in Area 6 of a residential development (Phase B) at Woodside, Co. Dublin, as an extension to the licence issued in 2002 (Excavations 2002, No. 697).

Topsoil-stripping took place in two south-sloping pasture fields at the eastern edge of the site. Topsoil was up to 1m in maximum depth to the south of the site overlying a natural subsoil comprising orange-brown heavy silty clay with up to 70% inclusions of shattered limestone. In addition to the two fields in Area 6, a narrow area of the eastern field boundary was removed to accommodate the laying of a sewerage pipe in the adjoining field, the route of which was also topsoil-stripped. With the exception of the site of a possible fulacht fiadh identified during testing of this area, no further features of archaeological significance were identified during the monitoring programme.
