Monitoring at this site on Main Street, Tallaght, was carried out after demolition of a one-storey butcher’s premises. A total of 0.6m was removed from all over the footprint of the original shop (approximately 10m long by 2.5m wide). The deposit was homogenous throughout, comprising a light-brown stony clay with few inclusions. Several modern inclusions were noted in the upper part of the clay, namely glass, brick fragments and modern ceramic sherds. There was no evidence for any significant archaeological deposits or features present within the site.
