Monitoring was undertaken at Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24. The proposed development consists of the realignment of the Greenhills Road. The proposed section for realignment runs south from the junction with Airton Road along the current Greenhills Road to Bancroft Park. Testing was carried by the writer in March 2003 (No. 672, Excavations 2003, 03E0131). There was no evidence of any remains in any of the test-trenches. It was recommended that all subsurface groundworks associated with the proposed road realignment be monitored. The monitoring, which involved the excavation of up to 1.3m (depth) of material along the route, revealed nothing of archaeological interest.
