Testing was undertaken as part of a pre-planning application on the site of a proposed convention centre at Citywest Hotel and Golf Club, Saggart, Co. Dublin. The proposed development area lay near the town of Saggart, defined as a zone of archaeological potential, but did not intrude upon it. In addition, it was near SMR 21:34(10), Tasaggart House, and SMR 21:34(11), a tower-house, but again did not intrude on these.

Six trial-trenches were excavated across the proposed development area, which was in use as a golf driving range. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified and the area was noted as having been landscaped in the past.
