Testing was carried out at 4–8 Longs Place, Dublin 8. The development plans included the demolishment of a public house and warehouses to construct a new six-storey commercial/residential development over a basement. The buildings had been demolished and the site cleared prior to testing. A cleared-out basement measuring over 2m in depth was present at the northern end of the site. Two trenches at the southern end of the site were excavated to reveal layers of basement rubble and some foundation walls associated with the buildings on the site prior to their demolition. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during testing.
