Testing was carried out on a development site at 69A Donore Avenue, as portions of the site lie within the constraint area for the Donore Castle settlement site. Four trenches were opened towards the front of the site using a machine excavator with a toothless bucket. All were 1.4m in width. All had the same profile, showing that the ground level had been raised twice. Both the layers associated with the raising of the ground level contained post-medieval pottery.
