Testing took place of a proposed redevelopment site at the junction of Cork Street and Marrowbone Lane, Dublin 8. The site lies just within the zone of archaeological potential around medieval Dublin (SMR 18:20) but beyond the precinct of the medieval walled town, and some distance from the medieval core. Its potential relates to its position on Cork Street, which follows the ancient Gaelic routeway from the south-west to Dublin known as the Slige Dula.

Two stages of reclamation were identified within the site, an upper rubble deposit 0.2m in depth and a lower clay deposit 1.1m in depth, dating to the late 19th century. The stratigraphy was consistent throughout the site except in Trench 2, where the remains of a late floor surface with two associated walls were identified.
