Monitoring was carried out in December 2002 and January 2003 on a site opposite St Kevin’s Church on Camden Row. Cartographic evidence shows that the site was not developed until the latter part of the 19th century. The ten pits excavated and the subsequent monitoring of the groundworks revealed large deposits of building rubble, which must post-date this period. A granite wall was discovered along the eastern boundary of the site. This presumably dates from the construction of a building east of the site, which is shown on the 1847 OS map. Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
