The proposed development, a warehouse complex, parking and related services on a seven-acre site, is located just outside Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. Monitoring of all topsoil-stripping was carried out between 21 April and 9 May 2003. The entire area of the site to be affected by development was excavated to undisturbed natural. The topsoil was thin, with a maximum depth of 0.4m, bottoming onto stony grey/brown subsoil and exposed bedrock in places. No archaeological remains or finds were uncovered. A number of early modern and modern land drains were revealed, as were considerable quantities of 19th- and early 20th-century crockery and bottle glass.
