Monitoring was carried out at Bridge Street, Rathmelton, Co. Donegal. The proposed development entails the construction of four local authority houses on the southern side of Bridge Street, on the site of a previously demolished house. This required the removal of a steep bank and retaining stone wall. Subsequent to this, topsoil was removed. This work was monitored by Tom Rogers in 2002 (Excavations 2002, No. 431).
Excavation of foundation trenches at the base of the slope, on the former street frontage, was carried out in August 2003. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
