A test excavation was undertaken at Townlands, Rosscarbery, Co. Cork, as part of an assessment for a single dwelling-house. The house site was within the zone of potential for Rosscarbery (SMR 143:23) and near to the suspected line of the town wall (SMR 143:99). Three trenches were excavated in the footprint of the proposed house. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered.
