A request for further information, requiring testing, was issued in order to progress an application for a Grant of Planning for the construction of a dwelling at Hilltop, Ardmore, Passage West, Co. Cork. The site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for a graveyard and church. Five trenches were excavated along the footprint of the proposed development and along the proposed entrance. The trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.2–0.3m to reveal natural orange/brown boulder clay. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted in the trenches.
