Five test-trenches were excavated along the foundations and driveway at the proposed site of a dwelling-house at Nettleville Demesne, Carrigadrohid. The development site is in a small clearance in an overgrown wooded area located c. 50m to the south-west of the now derelict Nettleville House. The topsoil layer ranged between 0.4 and 1m deep and directly overlay the fractured shale bedrock material. Nothing of an archaeological nature was uncovered.
