The excavations at Mondaniel 4 were carried out as part of the N8 Rathcormac–Fermoy Bypass Scheme. Eight cut features were recorded, the majority of which were non-archaeological (tree-root activity, cultivation furrows and possible geological features). A limited number of features, consisting of isolated stake-holes, may have been archaeological in nature.
