Planning permission was granted for the construction of a terrace of four houses at Kilmacabea, Leap, with a condition which required monitoring of all ground disturbance. The development falls within the zone of archaeological potential for a corn store and a corn mill. The site slopes gently from north to south. The ground level had been artificially raised in the past. Monitoring found that the depth of fill varied from c. 1–1.5m in the south, decreasing to 0.3m in places, particularly towards the north. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted.
