Testing was requested as a condition of the Grant of Planning for the construction of a dwelling-house and garage at Crookstown, Kilbrenan, Co. Cork. The development site falls within the zone of archaeological potential for a possible fulacht fiadh. Five trenches were excavated by mechanical digger along the footprint of the proposed development and along the proposed drainage and driveway routes. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted in the trenches.
