Monitoring of three engineering trial holes at the proposed development of residential buildings was undertaken. The trial holes were dug by a mechanical excavator and all were excavated to the top of the sandstone bedrock layer. The modern overburden was found to directly overlie the sterile boulder clay in all areas. Nothing of an archaeological nature was uncovered.
