This site is located in the core area of the Anglo-Norman city of Cork, on the east side of North Main Street. The building development includes the refurbishment of the street-fronting building and the construction of an additional section to the rear. The additional building is on a raft foundation and a test-trench established that the upper 1m of stratigraphy is modern. The building foundation does not impact on the subsurface archaeological layers. The building refurbishment had no impact on the archaeological horizons.
