The excavation of engineering pits was monitored to investigate ground conditions before the construction of the water pipeline. The trenches were excavated along the existing road network. A shallow trench excavated adjacent to an enclosure revealed a rough line of stones; the trench was not further excavated. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed in any of the other trenches.
