It is proposed to construct a three-block apartment development, with associated car-parking, at Cock Hill, Cavan. The area of development is located within the zone of archaeological potential for Cavan. A pre-planning enquiry recommended pre-development testing. This was carried out on 8 February 2003 and consisted of the excavation of five trenches within the boundaries of the site. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered as a result of the testing process.
