As an extension to work carried out by Malachy Conway in advance of a retail development (Excavations 2002, No. 30, AE/02/47), a further test-trench was excavated along the eastern (Lonsdale Road) boundary of the site. Although the trench was excavated to a depth of c. 2m, no deposits or features of archaeological significance were noted.
