Test excavation as part of an assessment took place at ‘Ivy Nook’, Westgate, Wexford, in March 2002. Two trenches were excavated within the limits of the site, which is inside the zone of archaeological potential of Wexford town. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered. Fragmented natural bedrock was revealed at 0.15–0.3m below present ground level in both trenches.
