A proposed development to the rear of the Newbury Hotel, which faces onto Dominick Street, Mullingar, will involve the construction of an L-shaped extension. The extension includes a basement level, but the ground level to the rear of the hotel is c. 2m below the street level to the front. All aspects of the proposed development that require excavation were monitored, with no evidence of archaeological activity revealed.
