Monitoring of the groundworks for a single residential development took place. Three ringforts are recorded within 300m of the development area, SMR 26:45–7. The house area, measuring 22m by 25m, and the driveway, 4m by 35m, were stripped of topsoil. This was 0.2–0.4m deep and overlay a yellow/brown till in the west of the site and a small gravel ridge in the east. The ridge appears to have been misidentified as an archaeological site by the Archaeological Survey of Ireland. Subsequent field inspection and monitoring determined its glacial origin.
