This site was on low-lying land near the margins of a shallow boggy area. It was truncated to the east by a field boundary and a land drain (probably an artificially widened stream). The mound appeared to have been considerably disturbed.
The mound measured 8m (east–west) by 6m and had a maximum depth of 0.3m. On excavation, a shallow trough was exposed, measuring 2.2m by 1.2m with a maximum depth of 0.2m. A narrow gully ran into the trough from the east (this may have been fed by the stream). It measured 3.3m (east–west) by 0.3m and was 0.6m deep. A shallow deposit of charcoal lay at the base of the mound and may indicate a temporary hearth.
