This was an isolated pit cutting natural subsoil. It measured 0.6m (east–west) by 1m and was 0.4m deep. It was filled with a friable, light brown, sandy clay with occasional inclusions of burnt limestone and charcoal flecking. There was evidence of in situ burning at the base.
