Construction of an emergency water supply from Ballymore to Moate, Co. Westmeath, was monitored. The water supply consisted of a blue plastic pipe, c. 0.15m in diameter, laid at a depth of c. 1m along the road verge. The proposed line of the pipe-trench encroached on three sites recorded in the SMR. These areas were tested before development. Monitoring did not reveal any finds or features of archaeological significance.
