The line of the proposed relief water-supply pipeline from Ballymore to Moate, Co. Westmeath, ran through the possible site of a standing stone. The standing stone is not indicated on the OS 6-inch sheet. The area of potential is now part of the modern roadway. A test-cutting was excavated in the area of potential, on the footprint of the proposed pipeline cut. Testing and subsequent monitoring did not reveal any finds or features of archaeological significance.
